Why "Fringe" Is Here To Stay (For Now)

You know, I'm going to go out on a limb right now and say that FOX isn't going to cancel Fringe any time soon. After all, they seem to be content with keeping the worst sitcom this year on the air for the rest of the season. Raising Hope has been given a full season order of 22 episodes, despite declining ratings and a simply terrible critical reception. Given the amount of faith that FOX has in Fringe, it seems somewhat illogical for them to cancel in the prime of its life. While the ratings haven't exactly been off the charts, the reviews have so far been hailing this season as the show's best yet. Some people have even said that it's now the best show on television.

The fact of the matter is, as has been stated before, Thursday has always been a competitive circuit. There aren't a lot of shows that FOX can throw in to fight such titans as CSI and Grey's Anatomy. If they were to throw Glee into that slot, it too would struggle in the ratings circuit. There were always going to be a few consequences. I'd keep suggesting that FOX switch Fringe to a new night, but their best card to play really is to keep it there. The best suggestion I can make is for them to plan carefully when programming which nights they premiere new episodes. Also, and I can't believe I'm saying this again, but please start watching Fringe! You don't know what you could've had until it's gone.
