I think I've finally got The Tourist figured out. Angelina Jolie uses Johnny Depp as a scapegoat for her real boyfriend, Alexander Pierce, who is on the run from the government for some reason. This definitely sounds like something of a reworking of El Mariachi to fit a more modern context, and I'm still not quite sure if I want to see this film. It's from the Academy Award winning director of The Lives of Others, but does that instantly make it trustworthy? I'm not quite sure, so please let me know what you think.
