The Cinematography of "True Grit"

If there's one quality I most admire about the Coen brothers' latest film, it's probably the cinematography. I love films that have a warm and authentic visual feel to them, which is one of the reasons I was so taken with Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. The visuals in that piece had such a layered and painterly feel to them, and I always find myself disappointed that Bruno Delbonnel didn't take home the Oscar last year instead of the hardly deserving Avatar. True Grit has that same look about it, like each frame had such detail put into it, and Deakins deserves the win for his work.
