You're not the only one who's never heard of Joe Cornish or his recent directorial debut, Attack the Block. Until last night, I hadn't either, but that was before the initial reviews of the film came online after its premiere at SXSW. Apparently the film is set in South London and follows a gang of British street goons as they fight to protect their block from invaders from outer space. If it sounds like it piles on the cornball goofiness, for once I ask you to keep those notions aside for now. This film has been earning some fantastic reviews in the past 24 hours, and even though I'm somewhat baffled, I'm also a bit interested.
