More often than not, these sorts of tragic events 
cause me new discoveries. Like most people, I have heard of Elizabeth Taylor plenty of times before, but I've just never gotten around to seeing one of her films. She hasn't appeared in films for years, but she's received Oscar nominations for her work in Raintree County, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, and Suddenly, Last Summer. On top of that she's won for roles in Butterfield 8 and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, the latter of which I'll be checking out as soon as I find the time this week. I'm sure I'll have a greater idea of what's been lost as I look back onto her career. For those already in the know, here's a clip of her on "What's My Line?".
