In the realm of news directly related to this year in film, of which there have been few additions thus far, we have our first major drop of news. Robert De Niro is set to head the jury at the Cannes Film Festival this year. Last year, Tim Burton took the lead, and then he ended his run by voting in favor of Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives. DeNiro is probably going to make a less radical choice for the winner, and it's hard for me to put my faith in the man who willingly decided to be in Little Fockers. We'll just have to see how this one turns out.
