Well, Conan O'Brian finally returned to late night last night, and though it might not have been as fun as the shows leading up to his Tonight Show exit, Conan had a more than solid debut that was better than most of the talk shows on in the late night period. His cold open chronicling his time in between NBC and TBS was pretty hilarious, not to mention beautifully shot. The nice cameo by a certain star of a recently successful AMC drama added to the effect of it all. The rest of the show was pretty great as well, though a little bit mellow if you ask me. I'm sure there will be more to the show as time goes on, and I'm definitely hooked enough to stay with it through the first week. The first show got more that 4.1 million viewers, which is an obvious sign of the recent success of basic cable. Comment on your thoughts from the first show. I want to know what you think.
