Quentin Tarantino taking on "The Shadow"?

I'm becoming very easily frustrated with Quentin Tarantino. It's been an entire year since he finished up work on Inglourious Basterds, and he has yet to announce his next project. There have only been rumors spanning from the third Kill Bill, to a western set in the south, to an Inglourious Basterds prequel, but never any confirmation. Maybe he's just taking time to write his own scripts. If so, it'd be nice if he let us know about it before hand. Now, the rumors are skewing a little crazy.

People are now tossing around speculations that the director is scripting and directing an adaptation of The Shadow, an old serialized drama. It's been adapted into a film before with less success. Remember the 1994 film with Alec Baldwin? Neither do I, but it was apparently one of the worst comic book movies ever made. I suspect that the rumors of this being Tarantino's next project are just rumors, and no more. However, with luck, Quentin will adress these rumors and let us know what he's really been working on.
