Somebody Died: Tom Mankiewicz

It's always a very rare occasion when a person who was actually relevant in our modern culture dies. While he's not the most known name in film making, Tom Mankiewicz had a hand in developing not only the first two Superman films (the good ones), but also wrote the screenplays for a few of the James Bond films, such as Diamonds Are Forever and Live and Let Die. He penned many other projects, but none as popular as his work in the early years of his life. Mankiewicz died at the age of 68, after a brief illness.
