Not related in the slightest bit to film, but it's something that has to be said. As a generally cynical human being, especially when it comes to the subject of America, this is a strange moment. It's incredibly hopeful and optimistic, and I feel like it will be doused later on by rumors of illegitimacy, however false they may be. This is still one of the proudest moments in the unglamorous history of this country.
