For Your Anticipation: I want you to live in it

Tyler Perry continues to be an enigma to me, though not quite in a good way. The man has had success for reasons I am not quite privy to, and he puts out roughly two films each year that are indistinguishable from one another. I don't distinguish matters of plot, characters, or even actors at this point. Whether there are strong performances being lifted out of these films is beyond the effort I am willing to put in to seek one of these out. This week's film is called "Good Deeds", but I honestly don't think the title matters so much as his name.

For Your Anticipation: The Right Prescripture

I don't take pleasure in seeing such awful films as these, even if I do find such while writing my critical defaming of the piece. I profess that I did not look at the clip provided below, because if I'm going to suffer through this film, I don't want to suffer any more than necessary. I don't watch African-American comedies, because for some reason they don't decide to consign to reality. It's not anything to do with racism, but it's a common critical analysis. I don't expect Tyler Perry's Madea's Big Happy Family to be any different, and I know I won't be proven wrong.

Theatrical Trailer: For Colored Girls

I'm sick and tired of the Oscar talk For Colored Girls is actually getting, because outside of J.J. Abrams' Star Trek reboot, Tyler Perry has never made a good film. There are some African-American dramas that work, and some that don't. This one doesn't, at least from what I see here. Then again I just saw a two-hour-long soap opera about some self-involved girl trying not to be black, so I'm not too intent on seeing another one of those. It might be just me, but take a look at this trailer, and comment below on what you think of it.
